What’s in Season
There doesn’t seem to be the conventional four season any more. Indeed some think that there are six season in a year. We have found that the seasons vary from year to year and try to work with the weather to provide a good variety of produce throughout the year. Below is an idea of what you may expect to find in your box or bag during each quarter.
January- March
Beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, capsicum, carrot, chilli, corn, cucumber, eggplant, fennel, green beans, globe artichokes, garlic, leek, onion, potato, radish, rhubarb, salad leaves, silverbeet, spinach, spring onion, summer squash, tomato, zucchini.
Basil, chervil, chives, dill, garlic chives, mint, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme.
April- June
Beetroot, broccoli, capsicum, carrot, celery, chilli, eggplant, kale, leek, melon, mustard leaf, potato, pumpkin, quince, radish, rhubarb, salad leaves, silverbeet, spinach, spring onion, tomato, zucchini.
Chervil, chives, coriander, dill, garlic chives, lovage, mint, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme.
July- September
Beetroot, broccoli, carrot, cauliflower, celery, fennel, Jerusalem artichokes, kale, kohl rabi, leek, mustard leaf,pak choi, pumpkin, radish, rhubarb, salad leaves, silverbeet, spinach, spring onion, swede, turnip, watercress.
Chives, coriander, garlic chives, lovage, mint, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme.
October- December
Asparagus, beetroot, broad beans, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, cauliflower, fennel, garlic, globe artichokes, kale, leek, mustard leaf, onion, parsnip, peas (shelling, snow and sugar snap), radish, salad leaves, silverbeet, spinach, spring onion, watercress.
